David Walker, pictured above receiving his Management Modern Apprenticeship certificate in March 2010.

David is the Operational Manager at the Garioch Sports Centre, Inverurie, where he achieved his Management Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship through Strathearn Training.  David achieved his award by proving his competence in the workplace to a National Standard to his Assessor, Debra Murphy.

David selected the optional units of Participating in Meetings, Communicating Information and Knowledge and Developing Productive Working Relationships with Colleagues to add to the mandatory units which, along with his HNC In Sports Coaching with Sports Development, First Aid At Work and Core Skills, enabled him to achieved a full Modern Apprenticeship in Management. 

 100% funding for the award has been provided by Skills Development Scotland, enabling Strathearn Training to offer David, through the Garioch Sports Centre,  the award at no cost.

The Garioch Sports Centre are fully supportive of the vocational qualifications and currently have three Employees working towards Modern Apprenticeships through Strathearn Training in Management, Team Leading and Business & Administration.
